Our Many Diverse Voices
Diversity is one of our core values as a Company, and it’s also something very personal and unique to each employee. Who better to tell our story of diversity than the people who are part of that story. “The Many Diverse Voices of Betterment” shares how our unique backgrounds and perspectives make us stronger, together, as a Company as a whole, and as individuals. Our diverse and inclusive culture and what diversity means at SOC and Day & Zimmermann is told through personal, unscripted first-person narratives.
SOC's Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work
On SOC's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work, children joined SOC as "employees for the day." SOC volunteers made this day possible by running sessions, coordinating kids, organizing food and gifts, filming, and more.
Operation First Response
SOC has contributed items of need to wounded soldiers traveling from war zones to combat hospitals. As a first response, injured service-men and women who arrive at trauma centers with nothing more than wounds and bandages, receive backpacks with important personal and clothing items and a letter of support from SOC staff while being treated in combat support hospitals. SOC sent backpacks directly to soldiers in Afghanistan with letters dedicated from our teams, families, and children at local schools.
Diversity & Inclusion
Each D&Z business unit develops specific action plans to meet our strategic D&I objectives. These plans are reported on quarterly to our Leadership Council.
Talent Recruitment & Retention
D&Z analyzes recruiting and retention efforts quarterly in order to ensure D&Z is leveraging best practices and resources on recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent.
D&Z has an incredibly talented workforce willing to share its knowledge by mentoring. Our Women’s Resource Group also offers informal, virtual mentoring programs via D&Z Circles.
Diversity & Inclusion Performance
As part of our annual performance reviews, employees are appraised on their ability to bring our core value of diversity to action.
We have several programs that provide diversity and inclusion training throughout an employee’s career. D&Z strives to ensure that all employees understand its policies and the leadership behaviors that foster an inclusive culture.
Diversity & Inclusion Governance
Our Executive Diversity & Inclusion Board (EDIB) is a governing body that establishes the Company’s strategies for diversity and inclusion. The Board’s mission is to build upon the Company’s diversity and inclusion strategy and operationalize our diversity action plans across D&Z.
All employees are expected to understand diversity as our core company value and recognize the Company’s commitment to creating an inclusive culture.
Additionally, our Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee, along with our Employee Resource Groups, round out our network of diversity and inclusion leadership and governance.
