A Message From Our President: Remembering September 11th Twenty Years Later

SteveBy: Steven G. Selfridge, President, SOC

Although it feels like yesterday, this Saturday it will have been 20 years since September 11, 2001, the unforgettable date that will forever remind us of our need to maintain and protect our freedoms.

We look back on the horrific events that shook our nation and forever changed us, when terrorists attacked our country, striking the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania where United Flight 93 crashed.

I encourage you to take a moment to pause in remembrance of the brave heroes and fallen friends who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Option 3 - 911 20th Anniversary Post (5)Following this tragedy we have worked to become a stronger United States of America. Every day, we have an opportunity to live up to the promise of remaining strong by working together, as the brave heroes did on that fateful day.

In their memory, and as a nation, we committed to persevere, heal, rebuild, and learn from this tragic experience. In the past two decades following September 11, many of our team members have served in the aftermath, working to strengthen our U.S. National Security at home and abroad. Our Government Services teams continue to work around the clock in unity to serve this important U.S. National Security Mission.

Thank you for all you do.

We will never forget.
