A small team led by SOC Cyber and comprised of industry partners and local college students participated in the annual Hack-A-Sat challenge hosted by the US Air Force. The event spanned 30 hours on May 21-22 and challenged teams’ to quickly decompose problems, brainstorm solutions, and supply answers. Each problem required a combination of skills ranging from reverse engineering and vulnerability assessment to RF communications and astrophysics. The SOC Team, ROP_Lobsters, scored in the top 5% percent of teams, placing #33 out of over 800 international teams, and will receive recognition from the US Air Force.
Giampiero Corsbie, SOC Cyber Engineer and ROP_Lobsters Team Captain, said “This was a great opportunity for our team to have some competitive fun and a great recruitment outreach. We look forward to placing even higher in the 2023 Hack-A-Sat 4 event!”
