SignalSecure CDS

SOC’s SignalSecure Contraband Disconnect Service (CDS) provides the ability to detect, locate, and disable cellular phones within a facility’s indoor and outdoor environment while being in full compliance with recent FCC rules established in 47 C.F.R. § 20.23. Our system also provides identification and accurate location information on detected cellular phones. SignalSecure is designed to intelligently develop a target list of contraband phones while avoiding the disabling of non-contraband phones.

Target use cases are the protection of embassies, military bases, prisons, and other static facilities where cell phone usage is strictly prohibited.

Our team has demonstrated expertise and
experience in custom cellular solutions spanning network architecture, network security, antenna installation, custom cellular solutions, and network deployments.

Process

Install
  • Install FCC certified equipment
  • Install limited antenna infrastructure – unlike with managed access systems, very few antennas are needed for
    the system to be effective
  • Calibrate system to avoid overcollection of phones
  • Configure system to ignore authorized phones (if any)
Detect
  • Continuously scan for contraband phones
Locate
  • Periodically activate proprietary localization system to
positively localize each phone in the facility to within 10-20
    ft.
Process
  • Continually analyze collected data for pattern-of-life and
other intelligence to develop a list of probable contraband
    phones with associated confidence levels
Submit
  • Coordinate with Designated Correctional Facility Official to
submit list of phones to carriers to be disabled – without a
    court order
  • Follow-up with carriers to ensure phones have been
    disabled

Hardware

  • Hundreds of similar units are operated by law enforcement
    agencies around the world
  • Hardware is reliable with over 29,000-hour MTBF
