SOC, A Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) Company, has served a critical role in providing shipping and logistics for the mission-critical delivery of donated vehicle parts to the Government of Ukraine, supporting maintenance and ongoing sustainment of Ukraine’s tactical vehicle fleet, including High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV or HUMVEE). In order to keep fleets running, fortifying Ukraine’s ground response, together with Azstar Business Management Co. and leading light tactical vehicle manufacturer, AM General, SOC coordinated shipping and logistics, from the U.S. to the final direct delivery to the Ukrainian units and vehicle fleets operating on the front lines.

On June 8, 2024, Ukraine's Defense Ministry stated that the “Renewal and replenishment of the Armed Forces vehicle fleet ensures increased mobility and combat capability of the Ukrainian military, which is critical in the current situation.” (The Kyiv Independent) SOC, working with U.S. Industry Partners such as Azstar Business Management Co., AM General, and Ukrainian transportation partners, provided mission support to facilitate the logistics of the 5,000 mile journey, requiring attention to detail at each stop along the way to ensure these materials arrived safely.

“SOC ensured these critical replacement parts were received by the active units, where they are needed the most,” stated Mike Jenkins, SVP, SOC. “Since the first Russian attacks, we have been proud to support Ukraine’s front lines, providing logistics services moving materials, supplies, and mission-critical resources into Ukraine,” he added.

SOC has also assisted with the logistics and procurement of bringing large pallets [weighing more than 22,000 lbs] of mission-critical, cold weather equipment by air, sea, and land from the U.S. to Ukrainian front lines. SOC supported Ukraine’s operations by helping procure 126 pallets of American-made, high-end professional gear, outfitting more than a Ukrainian Regimental-sized unit, in time for extreme temperatures dropping as low as -5 degrees Fahrenheit (-21.6 C).
