(Chantilly, VA) November 6, 2014 - SOC LLC, a leading provider of integrated security, critical infrastructure solutions and mission support services around the world, donated to Operation First Response as part of the company’s ongoing charitable initiatives and corporate social responsibility program, SOC Cares. Operation First Response is an organization focused on assisting wounded soldiers and disabled veterans in order to contribute items of need. “Often times, wounded soldiers traveling from warzones to combat hospitals arrive without any personal items or clothing, because they are so heavily bandaged and wounded,” said, Peggy Baker, Founder of Operation First Response. “Our family founded this operation after September 11 when our son joined the Army. We saw that there was an extreme need for support, particularly at this crucial time when soldiers are the most fragile and without family.”
SOC’s Chantilly and Sterling offices contributed backpacks to wounded soldiers filled with letters of support, clothing donations and travel items. As a first response, injured service-men and women will receive the backpacks with important personal items and a note from SOC while being treated in combat support hospitals. “The entire SOC Family, including spouses and children, rallied to support Operation First Response,” said Derek Johnson, Company Spokesperson, SOC. “We look forward to continuing to make a difference for wounded servicemen and women and disabled veterans.”
