SOC Nevada will participate in the 7th Annual 9-11 Mt. Grant Memorial Challenge this weekend as a major community and regional event. The full-day 17-mile hike will be the focus of the Challenge and 9-11 Remembrance activities are planned throughout the weekend. SOC will be assisting with medical and emergency support, transport vehicles, sanitation services, check points, and many volunteers. During the Mt. Grant Challenge, a hike to an elevation of 11,239 feet, the SOC Fire Department will provide medical and emergency communication services, with a command vehicle that will continually travel from top to bottom of Mt. Grant.
The year-after-year community support for this event includes dozens of sponsors and with strong support from SOC employees, EMTs, and firefighters. The weekend’s events will kick off with the 9-11 Memorial Parade that features SOC’s Fire Department and truck.
