SOC Receives ‘Million Work Hours’ Safety Award

SOC Nevada was awarded the “Million Work Hours” Award by the National Safety Council (NSC). This award recognizes organizations that have completed a period of at least one million consecutive work hours without any occupational injury, illness resulting in days away from work, or fatalities in those one million hours.

SOC Nevada has performed over 1.2 million hours of work without any injury or illness resulting in days away from work at Hawthorne Army Depot. The last “Days Away From Work” case was recorded in June of 2016 and the 1 million hour milestone was achieved May 30, 2017. This is important because it demonstrates SOC’s commitment to worker safety and the “Why Not Zero” safety campaign. It also demonstrates to our customer, the U.S. Army, that we are committed to a strong safety culture.
