Trusted Protection of Special Nuclear Material – Pantex Plant, Amarillo, TX
SOC delivers comprehensive safeguards, security, and emergency services for the Pantex site — the nation’s most critical nuclear security facility — supporting the U.S. Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA). Key responsibilities at Pantex include supporting nuclear weapons life extension programs, weapons assembly and dismantlement, nuclear surveillance, development and testing of high explosive components, and the interim storage and monitoring of plutonium pits.
Securing America’s Strategic Energy Reserve – Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Gulf Coast Region
SOC provides comprehensive security for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), safeguarding facilities, personnel, equipment, and assets 24/7, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In 2021, Fluor Federal Petroleum Operations (FFPO), the DOE’s management and operating contractor for the SPR, awarded SOC a $123 million contract (three-year base with two one-year options) to serve as the Protective Force (Proforce) for this critical infrastructure.
